Sustainability

As someone who is hugely passionate about the natural world, it was crucial that I incorporated eco-friendly measures into my business in order to reduce my impact on the environment for both wildlife and people.

I have tried to implement ethical and environmentally conscious practices in all areas of my business where feasible, with the ultimate goal to aim for zero waste to landfill.

I believe transparency is key and I am always open to ideas on how to improve, and would love to hear clients’ suggestions on anything I could add or change in my business.

  • Leads

I have 100% natural leads made out of hemp, which is a sustainable and eco-friendly material and is naturally hypo-allergenic and vegan. Perfect for dogs with allergies and sensitive skin! Hemp fibre is also naturally resistant to mold, mildew and rot and continues to soften over time without fibre degradation.

  • Compostable Poo Bags

I get all of my poo bags from Enviropaws, which are made from 100% plant-based materials which are certified home-compostable. This means they are certified to break down completely into non-toxic components that will not harm the environment.

  • At Home Dog Poo Composter

I have created my own at home dog poo composter to reduce the waste going to landfill and potentially harming the environment. Composting can reduce the volume of dog waste by 50 percent and once composted, it can become a nutrient-rich and odour-free fertiliser for plants.

  • Treats

I use Denzels treats which are made with 100% natural ingredients with no added salt, grain, sugars or nasties. They are made in the UK from local suppliers , and they are also palm oil free amd plastic free and even come in compostable packaging. But most importantly.. they are super tasty for dogs!

  • Blankets & Towels

I use 100% recycled blankets in all crates when your dog is in transit which are extremely soft and cosy! For those wet and muddy walks, I use bamboo dog towels from Collared Creatures. Their dog drying towels are highly water absorbent and are able to hold 3 times its weight in water, as well as being naturally antibacterial.

  • Dog Bowls

I have sourced my drinking bowls from BECO Bamboo Pet Bowls. The natural strength of bamboo makes it tough and hard wearing and is a much safer option compared to conventional plastic bowls and much gentler on the planets resources.

  • Cleaning Products

I only ever use plastic-free, natural, non-toxic and vegan products in all elements of cleaning within my business. I use a refillable scheme for all my products to minimise waste.

  • Marketing

All my business cards are made from 100% recycled T-shirt offcuts. This means that if you pick up one of my business cards you will be holding a complete tree-free design!

  • Uniform

All my branded uniform is sourced from Banana Moon, a clothing company which makes uniforms from recycled materials and organic cotton.

  • Local Area

I am part of the The New Forest Professional Dog Walkers’ Charter. All professional dog walkers that walk in the New Forest National Park are encouraged to abide by the best practice standards set out in this Charter which includes; operating the business in a professional manner, respecting the local environment and being considerate to other forest users.
